Theraputic group

We are delighted to share our 2026 Group Therapy Programs.

Our School ReadinessTherapeutic Art, and Therapeutic Music groups provide a supportive, engaging, and neuro-affirming environment where children can build confidence, strengthen communication and social skills, develop emotional regulation, and explore creativity through meaningful play and structured activities.

All programs are $120 per hourfully NDIS claimable (Capacity Building), and will be held at the Nunawading Community Hub (96–106 Springvale Rd, Nunawading VIC 3131).

Therapeutic Art Group

Suitable for children with a neurodivergent profile
Age range: 7–16 years

This art therapy group is facilitated by Leda, our registered Art Therapist, who provides a supportive and playful space for children who experience neurodivergence, including autism and ADHD. The sessions invite children to explore a variety of creative materials such as paint, sand, clay, collage, drawing, and mixed media, offering rich sensory experiences that nurture imagination and self-expression.

Each session is thoughtfully tailored to the individual therapeutic needs and interests of the participants. The choice of materials and activities varies for each child, allowing them to engage at their own pace and in ways that feel safe, comfortable, and meaningful. The focus is not on artistic skill or producing a perfect artwork, but on trusting the process, expressing freely, and finding joy through creativity and play.

Through guided and open-ended activities, children are supported to build confidence, develop emotional awareness, and strengthen social and communication skills. Benefits may include improved focus, self-regulation, problem solving, reduced anxiety, and an enhanced sense of self-esteem and belonging. Every session celebrates each child’s individuality and their unique way of seeing, creating, and connecting with the world.

Therapeutic Music Group

Suitable for children with a neurodivergent profile
Age range: 4–9 years

Our music therapy group is facilitated by Katie, a Registered Music Therapist (RMT) with a Master of Music Therapy from the University of Melbourne and membership with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA). Katie has experience across paediatric hospitals, specialist schools, aged care, and community programs, supporting children with ASD, ADHD, and developmental delays through neuro-affirming, strengths-based, and family-centred approaches.

Children will engage in a variety of musical experiences such as instrument play, rhythm games, vocalisation, movement, and sensory sound exploration. Sessions are tailored to each child’s needs and interests, focusing on self-expression, emotional regulation, confidence building, and positive social interaction—rather than musical performance.

Our goal is to provide a safe, playful, and supportive environment where each child can connect, create, and thrive through music.

School Readiness Program

For: children aged 4–6 years (Pre-Prep/Prep)
Group size: Maximum of 6 children
Facilitated by: an Occupational Therapist and Speech Pathologist

Our School Readiness Program supports young children as they build the foundational skills needed for a confident and successful transition into school. Led by our experienced Occupational Therapist and Speech Pathologist, the program combines play-based learning, structured routines, and hands-on activities tailored to each child’s developmental needs.

Children are guided through activities that promote:

  • ️ Communication Skills – Expressing ideas, listening, turn-taking, and following classroom instructions
  • Emotional Regulation – Understanding feelings, managing big emotions, and adapting to new environments
  • ✋ Fine Motor Development – Strengthening skills needed for writing, drawing, using scissors, and daily classroom tasks
  • Social Interaction – Playing cooperatively, sharing, problem-solving, and building positive peer relationships
  • Routines & Transitions – Moving smoothly between activities, following structure, and building independence
  • Self-Care Skills – Packing bags, organising belongings, toileting routines, mealtime skills, and cleaning up after tasks

Parents are supported through ‍‍ consultation sessions, providing guidance on school expectations and strategies to help children thrive both at home and in the classroom.

Our goal is to create a warm, engaging, and supportive environment where children feel confident, capable, and ready for their next big step into school.
