At All Thrive Care, our Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) work under the guidance of our Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists to provide hands-on, practical support to NDIS participants. AHAs help reinforce therapy goals through regular, real-life practice, making therapy more accessible, consistent, and cost-effective.
Every session an Allied Health Assistant runs is drawn from an individual program written and continuously reviewed by your supervising Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist. Under this clinical guidance, AHAs can:
- Practise self-care routines – dressing, toileting, tooth-brushing and mealtime skills exactly as prescribed in the therapy plan.
- Reinforce communication goals – speech-sound drills, AAC use, social conversation scripts and pragmatic language exercises.
- Carry out fine-motor & sensory programs – handwriting, scissor skills, keyboard use, sensory regulation breaks and graded exposure activities.
- Coach daily living independence – meal preparation, household chores, budgeting and safe public-transport training, following task analyses set by the therapist.
- Facilitate community & social participation – role-play social scenarios, accompany clients to clubs or appointments, and build confidence in real-life settings.
Progress is tracked after each visit and fed back to the lead therapist, so programs stay up-to-date and aligned with each participant’s NDIS goals.
